The Rolex Explorer II was made to address one very specific problem. As you may have noticed it features an extra orange colored 24-hour hand, which is referred to as the 'Freccione' or 'Big Arrow'.
Next to that it also has an engraved 24-hour scaled bezel, in this case an Mk1 bezel.
And because of this bezel; the lucky explorer can prevent losing all notion of time by being able to distinguish night from day during his or hers explorations to the far North where the sun might not pop up for months on end.

Dial Condition: Near Mint 95% condition creamy/eggshell patina matte dial with no visible blemish anywhere
Hand Condition: original tritium hand set with matching patina to the dial.
Bezel Condition: original MK1 bezel with some light scratches & light scuff marks but nothing to complain about. Totally devoid of any paint loss which is amazing!
Movement: caliber 1570 hacking movement (period correct) in good working condition.
Case Condition: condition would easily rate as 90% condition with no major dings or dents. No pitting on underside of case or case back.
Bracelet Condition: period correct 7836 folded link bracelet with “2 - 71” which dates this bracelet production to year 1971 which is correct for a circa 1973 watch.
Box & Paper: complete set with punched serial number Rolex Guarantee booklet, official chronometer certificate, 1972/73 calendar, chronometer tag, green bags tag with matching serial number all kept in the original green Rolex folder.
